What is the bowl made of, exactly?

100% high-fired ceramic stoneware, single piece. The bowl and base are formed and fired together — there is no plastic, metal, or rubber component. Glazed inside and out with a food-safe lead-free, cadmium-free glaze.

Is it really lead and cadmium free?

Every production batch ships with a current third-party lead and cadmium test report. We will email you the report on request — for the run your specific bowl came from.

Question 3

Where is it made?

Accepted Answer

Designed in the United States. Produced in a Chaozhou-cluster ceramic factory in Guangdong, China — a region that has been firing porcelain for centuries. We chose our factory partner specifically because they own and operate their own kiln.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. Top rack is gentlest. The bowl is also microwave safe (we don't recommend microwaving wet food in any bowl, but it won't damage the ceramic).

How heavy is it?

Approximately 700–900 grams. That weight is intentional — it keeps the bowl from sliding when an excited cat eats.

Will it work for my kitten / senior cat / multi-cat home?

The current piece is sized for adult cats (~16–18 cm diameter, raised ~10–12 cm). Kittens under 3 months may find the rim slightly tall. Senior cats with limited mobility benefit from the raised height, which reduces neck strain.

How does the slow-feeder maze work?

The interior of the bowl has a maze of shallow ridges molded directly into the ceramic. Food settles into the channels; your cat works it out one or two pieces at a time. There is no insert and nothing to clean separately.

On Amazon, where every order ships through Amazon's fulfillment network. We don't sell direct from this site by design — Amazon's logistics, returns, and Prime delivery are simply better than what we could build.

What is the return policy?

Amazon's standard 30-day return window applies on every order. Beyond that, if your bowl chips or cracks under normal use within the first 12 months, email us with a photo and your order number — we'll send a replacement free of charge.

Does my cat actually need a slow feeder?

Accepted Answer

Many cats benefit from one — especially fast eaters, multi-cat homes, and any cat that vomits after meals. If your cat eats slowly and never throws up, a flat shallow bowl will serve you fine. Read our care guide for the long answer.
